Classification: Primitive achondrite (acapulcoite)
Description: A 2697 g black stone entirely covered by fusion crust was found in the Dhofar region of Oman. Classification and description (A. Greshake, MNB): contains olivine (Fa8.5), augite (Fs3.7Wo43.8), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs7.7Wo1.9), plagioclase (An16.3Ab81.4), Fe-Ni metal, troilite, chlorapatite, and chromite; shows a recrystallization texture with abundant 120° triple junctions; many interstices are filled with metal; shock stage, S1; weathering grade, W1/2. Oxygen isotopes (R. Clayton and T. Mayeda, UChi): δ17O = +0.36·, δ18O = +3.57·, plotting in the acapulcoite–lodranite field.
