For Sale IconUwet IIAB Hexahedrite Iron Meteorites for Sale

Location: Calabar Cross, Nigeria (5° 17'N, 8° 15'E)

Found: 1903, known before this year.

Type: Iron, IIAB Hexahedrite

Description: A mass of about 55 Kg was said to have fallen 80 years before and was preserved by the natives. In 1908 a piece of about 10 Kg was presented to the British Museum. Because of weathering, it is believed to have fallen before 1825. Reheated cosmically. 5.61% Ni, 62.3 ppm Ga, 182 ppm Ge, 2.6 ppm Ir. (From Catalogue of Meteorites, 2000) A slice of Uwet was on display at the Smithsonian' Natural History Museum last time I visited.

Note: There is only one piece here--a remnant of a larger one I had years ago and had attempted to cut. (There is a partial saw cut on it.) I haven't done anything with it for all these years, so I just put it on the page. I left some old pictures here so you can get an idea of details.
